Donation Policy

Policy in force. This policy sets out SOCMI's current practice and is reviewed periodically. The effective date is shown when the most recent review is recorded.

This policy explains how SOCMI receives, allocates, and accounts for donations.

Payment methods

Donations are processed through Paystack, SOCMI's payment provider. Available methods and currencies depend on SOCMI's verified Paystack account configuration, which is being finalized.

Designations and restrictions

Where SOCMI offers fund designations, only areas the organization can track and honour are listed. If a restricted programme becomes fully funded, is delayed, or is discontinued, gifts will be redirected to the closest aligned area of work.

Receipts

A receipt is issued by email only after SOCMI receives verified confirmation of a successful payment. The receipt includes your donation reference, date, amount, currency, frequency, and fund designation.

Recurring giving

Monthly donations are managed through Paystack. You can change or cancel a recurring gift at any time; the cancellation takes effect from your next scheduled payment.

Cancellations

You can cancel a donation before payment is completed without consequence. Recurring gifts can be cancelled as described above.

Refunds

Refunds are handled through Paystack in line with this policy and applicable law. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact SOCMI using the donation support route with your donation reference. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method.

Chargebacks and fraud

SOCMI treats suspected fraud seriously. Where a chargeback or disputed payment is investigated, SOCMI may pause related records until the matter is resolved.

Currency and fees

Donations are made in the currency shown on the donation form. Transaction fees are determined by the payment provider and may be reflected in the amount settled to SOCMI.

Tax status

Tax treatment of donations depends on SOCMI's registration status and your jurisdiction. The site does not imply tax deductibility until legal review is complete and SOCMI has confirmed the applicable wording.

Donor privacy

Donor information is handled in line with SOCMI's Privacy Policy. Donor data is never sold, and donors may choose to give anonymously.

Contact
