Safeguarding

Policy in force. This policy sets out SOCMI's current practice and is reviewed periodically. The effective date is shown when the most recent review is recorded.

SOCMI is committed to the safety and dignity of every person it serves, especially children and vulnerable adults. This page sets out SOCMI's safeguarding commitments and how to raise a concern.

Our commitment

SOCMI works to ensure that everyone who comes into contact with the ministry is treated with respect, kept safe from harm, and never put at risk by its activities, staff, volunteers, or partners.

If you are in immediate danger

SOCMI is not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate local emergency service right away.

Raising a safeguarding concern

SOCMI provides a dedicated route to report a safeguarding concern. To protect sensitive information, please do not include detailed personal information in an ordinary email. The approved version of this page will name the responsible person, the reporting process, and the response you can expect.

Confidentiality

Safeguarding concerns are handled confidentially and on a need-to-know basis. There are limits to confidentiality where the law requires disclosure or where someone's safety is at risk.

How concerns are handled

Reports are taken seriously, acknowledged promptly, and managed through SOCMI's safeguarding process. Details of the process, timelines, and escalation will be confirmed in the approved version of this page.
